Room 2 Bloom Had A Farm E I E I O

Here is an example of what we are doing at Room 2 Bloom. This theme was "On The Farm". The children did the following activities as well as learned about farm equipment, how food gets from the farm to the market and even how to sing Old McDonald in sign language.

On the first day of this theme children were given a farm animal to color. We talked about what the animals were and what sounds they made and even how they move. We put all our animals safe in our little barn to display how wonderfully artistic we are!

As a group we discussed and charted what our favorite farm animals were. as you can see, the pig was tops with us!

This is a file folder game. The children needed to match the backends of the farm animals with the front ends. They got a chuckle out of seeing the animals cut in half, but more so the back half =).

On the Farm word wall

On Earth Day we planted flower seeds, we contiued to monitor the progress of our seedlings and used that project to teach us about crops that grow on the farm.

Do you know what Oviporius means? Rest assured, your child in R2B does! Chickens are Oviporius and we learned all about the life cycle of a chicken.

Chicken craft, simply ADORABLE!

One of worksheets . This one helped the older kids with their reading skills, mostly color word recognition, and for the younger kids it helped them with the color recognition.

At the end of the week we made homemade butter from whipping cream and that little jar and ate them on fresh dinner rolls.

Pig Craft. Oink!

This was a sensory experience where we imitated "sheering" the shaving creme from our balloon sheep.
