Ah 2 weeks of vaction for me means no updates on blogger apparently!
Room 2 Bloom re-opened on Sept 9th giving way to a whole new year of fun and learning.
Last week we actually had 2 new children so our ALL ABOUT ME theme was great for getting to know them and letting them know that we think they are special! The children graphed their favorite colors, colored self - portraits, made their finger prints, counted the letters in their name, sang songs and did a tactile name craft.
This upcoming week (Sept 14-18th) our theme is Camping & Forest! What fun we will have fishing, making smores, looking at animal tracks, and sleeping in our sleeping bags under the stars.
The week of September 21st we will be turning into cowboys and cowgirls, YEHAW! We will learn cowboy lingo, make some cow patty snacks and trail mix and even rustle up some campfire grub! We will learn about the rodeo and perhaps even have a special guest coming.
The last week of September will carry us right on into October and we will be all too ready for fall. Now Las Vegas doesn't get a FALL that some of us are used to, but we will do our best to bring it here! Anyone smell apple cider brewing?
SPECIAL REMINDERS
The Nellis Family Child Care Office is hosting a Ice Cream Social and Book Fair on Tuesday September 15th from 3-5pm. I encourage you to stop by and pick up some books for your children! Books are ALWAYS a good investment, and this will give you the chance to become familiar with the wonderful ladies (Traci, Trudy, Lisa and Tati) at the FCC office. I will not be able to take your children to this event this time around, but would really like for my families to make it up there and represent R2B!
There is also a Parent Advisory Board meeting on the 15th at 11am, and lunch will ber served. If you are interested in joining the board please contact Traci or Lisa at 652-4400. This is a great way for you to be involved in making Child Care at Nellis #1.
